EBC Insight

This course teaches practical and tested methods to develop participants’ understandings of de-escalation and risk reduction. It requires a single day to complete and it can take place as one session, two half-days or even as ‘twilights’, delivered to anywhere in the UK. It can also be selected as part of our tiered Continued Care Packages. The main areas include:

  • The Importance of Body Language

  • Key De-Escalation Techniques

  • Understanding how our Brains Work

  • Post-Incident: Reflecting, Repairing and Recording

  • Legislation and Guidance Regarding the Use of Force


FAA Level 1 Award in Awareness of Mental Health First Aid

This course is four hours long and suitable for all members of the public. It provides an important introduction for those interested in becoming a Mental Health First-Aider. It includes:

  • What is Mental Health First Aid?

  • Identifying Mental Health Conditions

  • Providing Advice and Starting a Conversation


FAA Level 2 Award in Mental Health First Aid

This course builds upon the Level 1 Award above and provides learners with a deeper understanding of the most common mental health conditions. It also teaches the skills required to act appropriately should a mental health condition be suspected. It lasts for six hours and covers:

  • What is Mental Health First Aid?

  • Identifying Mental Health Conditions

  • Providing Advice and Starting a Conversation

  • Drugs and Alcohol Awareness First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan

  • First Aid for Mental Health in the Workplace


FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising Mental Health First Aid

This twelve-hour-long course includes all the information from the first and second awards and it goes even further, teaching participants about the wide range of mental health conditions, therapies and other professional supports they will likely encounter. The course is suitable for all people and is especially valuable for those who hold managerial positions or who have responsibilities for implementing a positive mental health culture. It includes:

  • What is Mental Health First Aid?

  • Identifying Mental Health Conditions

  • Providing Advice and Starting a Conversation

  • Drugs and Alcohol Awareness

  • First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan

  • First Aid for Mental Health in the Workplace

  • Detailed Examination of Mental Health Conditions


Neurodiversity Awareness Courses

We provide training on the commonly encountered conditions: ASC, ADHD, dyspraxia and dyscalculia. Included are:

  • The Characteristics of Neurodiverse Conditions

  • Vital Classroom Practices and Strategies regarding Neurodiversity

  • Individualised Learning Plans, Long and Short Term
